Being surrounded by water certainly let the atmosphere feel a little cooler than usual, though due to the addition of the naturally carved rivers, it was humid as well. With the addition of the multiple storms lately, it let the cats come out a lot more frequently than the arid heat that the ground and air would give off. Lengthy silver tail whisking against the ground, Poppystar tilted her head to observe the clear blue sky with a faintly curious expression. Gooseberry colored eyes flickered in interest as her gaze swept across the darkly skinned bark of the great dead branch that housed her nest.
With another tilt of her head, the optimistic leader swiveled her eyes around to stare at the warriors' den with a calculating gleam in her eyes. The eldest kit, Specklekit, was ready to receive her mentor. However, who would she choose? Amberdawn, well, Poppystar had plans for her to mentor young Owlkit. She would temper his unending enthusiasm and attraction to all things shiny. Hopefully. A couple of the others... well, they were lazy to the older leader. Extremely lazy. They didn't work a lot, and only did the bare minimum on patrols.
The silvery she-cat made a soft noise of frustration, upon recalling the members of her Clan. Brightstream and Fernwhisker already had apprentices, while Drizzlefur and Rainpebble probably did not desire to have an apprentice. They were loyal warriors, but the leader would really prefer to have a warrior that would train an apprentice. While Poppystar herself was busy, she couldn't really train an apprentice- wait. That was actually a good idea.
The leader wasn't that old quite yet. She would most certainly live to see the next seventy moons or so, because wasn't Greatspirit around that age? Adapting a slightly mischievous and calculating expression, Poppystar lingered around the bottom of the willow stump with a vague impression that she was mildly impatient. It was nearly sunhigh, anyways. The heat of the day would attempt to lure the warriors and apprentices back into the dens, and at that thought, Poppystar repressed the urge to let out a scheming cackle of her own.
"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather here beneath the Tree Stump for a Clan Meeting!" NOTES ; Apprentice ceremony, go! If you have multiple characters, you may use them in a single post rather than posting separately.

The long-furred warrior had been out all morning - originally on the dawn patrol, she had decided to stay near the lake when they had finished, content to spend some time on her own and simply enjoy the world around her. And then she'd gotten hungry, and since she wasn't on a hunting patrol, she felt it safe enough to catch herself something to eat. She'd caught a small fish, eaten it, and lazed around for a short while longer before deciding to catch another to bring back to camp. Her long fur made fishing a chore, but it was what they did best - RiverClan cats weren't exactly trained to hunt anything else. Regardless, she found herself carrying a nice-looking trout back towards camp. She was relieved to find the camp calm - as sometimes it could get rather loud, and spotted Poppystar milling around the stump as if she were waiting for her Clan to wake up and be social. Dropping the trout on the freshkill pile, Amberdawn's ears twitched as the slim silver she-cat called for a clan meeting. Sighing softly to herself, Amberdawn flicked her bushy tail and trotted towards the stump, stopping a few paces away and sitting down gingerly, fluffy tail curled around her paws as she waited for more clanmates to show up. She was mildly curious about this meeting - and tried to go through her head of all the possibilities of what it could be for. Briefly, she also wondered where her siblings had run off to - they were tricky, Rainpebble could take care of himself but Drizzlefur was a concern of hers, and she liked to keep tabs on her sister just in case she didn't show up when she ought to. all we can do is keep breathing

The large white tom emerged from the Warriors den at the call of Poppystar. His already ruffled fur stuck out in all directions after his nap, making him look even more disheveled. He gave himself a quick grooming, which didn't really help much, before making his way over to the stump. His yellow eyes scanned the cats starting to gather. Thankfully he wasn't the only one late to rise today, seeing as there were only a few cats surrounding the tree stump by the time he found a spot to settle. His amber gaze swept through the cats arriving, searching for familiar faces. Where could his brother be? Maybe he went out hunting while I was napping. Mothflight was always the better hunter of the two brothers, and seemed to be more of an early riser. He caught sight of a big tabby entering the camp, with a slender calico following closely behind. Each held pieces of kill in their jaws that they quickly dropped on the fresh-kill pile before hurrying to the tree stump. As they settled beside each other, Snowblaze picked his way over to them and sat beside the calico. "Good morning, sleepyhead!" she purred in greeting. "Any idea what the meeting is for? The white tom shrugged, "I guess we'll find out soon enough." His gaze rested intently on Poppystar as he waited for the meeting to start.
