The day was fresh and the sunlight was vibrant. Prey ran in the sunlight, and there was numerous prey to be caught. A blissful feeling, no doubt, when one was surrounded by the numerous mice that could be brought back to camp for a grand feast. Robincreek, of course, relished in this sight, and happily hunted to her heart's content. The happiness in hunting was brief, however, as a sudden tug on her shoulder changed the scenery ever so greatly. The bright fields and bountiful prey was soon replaced by shadows and a limp body. As Robincreek walked forward to examine the body, she soon realized it was....! [break][break] The she-cat woke with a start. Looking around the camp startled, Robincreek took a moment to adjust her focus away from the nightmare. She shook her head first and then the rest of her body. The moss was slightly damp, likely from the morning dew. Robincreek yawned and then padded outside. The sun was just peeking slightly over the horizon, but Robincreek knew that this would be the time to hunt. Gathering herself, she wandered past several dens to check if anyone was awake and wanted to join her in an early dawn hunt. After all, prey waits for no cat, and the longer the camp dawdled, the less fresh-kill there would be. [break][break] Deciding that she would let the interested party come to her, Robincreek walked till she reached the entrance of the camp. There, she waited patiently, all while assessing the current state of roaming prey. Good, it seemed there was enough for just a bit of exercise today. She considered waking Bramblefire, yet knowing that he wasn't a kit anymore, she decided against that idea, and decided that whoever was up and willing to hunt would come with. Robincreek let out a sigh, watching the tiny ball of light in the sky rise.

Emberfrost glanced at the sky, noting how the sun seemed to be blinking its eyes open, spraying the dark clouds with pinkish light. He had been on watch for the second half of the night and wasn’t yet tired, even though his shift was almost over. There was nobody there besides him, but it was quite alright -- he enjoyed the solitude. After all, he wasn’t the most charismatic cat, going out and making friends with everything that moved. With the coming dawn, he could hear the birds take up their songs and even was able to spy a plump squirrel scampering down a tree and smashing its little clawed paws into the dirt, presumably to dig up a nut.
Behind him, Emberfrost heard pawsteps. He swiveled his black ears back and then turned his head. Robincreek was approaching him, a small she-cat only a few moons older than he. In fact, she must’ve been in the nursery for at least a short time when Emberfrost’s own sister, Sleetclaw, was. If Sunpaw was six moons and Bramblefire was twelve, then when Sleetclaw was pregnant and entered the den must’ve been a short time before Bramblefire became an apprentice. He probably saw her there when he visited his expecting sister. At least his relationship with Sleetclaw was good enough that he visited her in the nursery; Emberfrost was aware that there were some cats who didn’t even have that with their family; Robincreek had lost family, Emberfrost recalled. Her mate, Hawkstorm, had died, and it was devastating. At the time, Emberfrost, had pressed his nose to Hawkstorm’s body and offered his condolences, as was proper, but he wasn’t particularly close to either of them and put forth no more than what was proper, nor no less.
At first, Emberfrost suspected Robincreek was replacing him for the watch, but then she simply watched the sun rise, as though she were waiting for something or someone. “Good morning, Robincreek,” he meowed at last. “Off on an adventure today?” His tone was amiable, though it lacked the desperate excitement of someone who had just spent a large portion of time alone and forlornly longed for companionship. Not that it was monotone -- it was that of regular Clanmates greeting each other, nothing more and nothing less. Robincreek + is TAGGED | 380 WORDS | NOTES: -hurtles in-

The sun rose, albeit slowly, and while it seemed almost like an eternity, the view was also breathtaking to see. In all the moons that Robincreek lived for, she never thought a sunrise such as this could let her tensions ease so well. Hearing footsteps behind her, she turned around to face the tom. [break][break] "Good morning Emberfrost." she meowed in response to his greeting. Off on an adventure today? The question lingered in her head. While hunting for early prey was a nice thought, adventuring was also quite an exercise as well. "I was hoping to catch some early prey today," she said softly, "But I would be fine with adventuring as well." Her attention then shifted back towards the rising sun. Ah! How calming seeing a ball of light would be. [break][break] Once the sun had risen a considerable amount, she looked back at Emberfrost inquisitively. "Seeing as I will be active shortly, I was wondering if you'd like to join me in a hunting session? There are plenty of prey that can only be caught early, and prey waits for no cat." she asked sincerely. "I would love to have company while I go hunt, and I thought it would be a nice idea to gain more experience."

Emberfrost watched as Robincreek seemed soothed by the sun’s rising. It was true, there was something about the warmth and the glow that made everything seem just a bit more possible. He listened to her speak, considering the difference between hunting and adventuring. Would adventuring require exploring beyond the territory? Or could it be within? Could hunting for the Clan count as an adventure? And would vanishing before Ospreyclaw could assign patrols for the day be an adventure or seen as dereliction of duty? Of course, probably not if they successfully brought back prey. These questions flashed through his mind in just a heartbeat.
After she finished speaking, Emberfrost almost commented that he wasn’t yet relieved from duty, that he was meant to watch until he was replaced, when he heard pawsteps from behind and glanced over his shoulder to see the young Smoketalon. Emberfrost could spot a cruel cat from a lake’s-length away, being a fairly ruthless cat himself (no matter how much he try to hide it from his Clanmates), and this young tom was it. The sight of him made Emberfrost consider his apprentice, though he’d not asked her to appear for training early today. So, he nodded to Smoketalon, who took over the watch, and turned to Robincreek. “Now that my watch is finished, I would love to join you for some hunting.” His whiskers twitched at the thought of needing more experience -- it was true, they were both still young warriors, neither one even thirty moons old. It would take a while before they were masters like, say, Ospreyclaw or Thunderheart.
“Where would you like to hunt?” he inquired, considering all the locations. Birds and small animals both would probably be emerging at this time of day. Perhaps they could knock over a nest of hatchlings somewhere. If she didn’t have a place in mind or didn’t want to choose, he always could, but he supposed it would be respectful and friendly to defer to her, as she was the one who truly seemed moved by the dawn. Robincreek heard padding, and looked behind her to see who it was. Ah, Smoketalon. The young tom must be rotating in on watch duty. She gave a quick, curt nod to the approaching cat, as neither of them really had much to do with each other; they had mostly gone along doing their own business and the like. When Emberfrost responded that he'd be willing to join Robincreek for hunting, her face lit up joyously. [break][break] But then came the question of where the two would hunt. And it seemed Emberfrost had the same question as she. Scanning the horizon, Robincreek decided that the border of the lake would be a nice and relatively safe spot for the morning. "Would the lakefront work for you?" she asked the tom. After all, confirming that both parties were satisfied with the location was crucial to a successful hunt. "I'm open to other suggestions, but I felt the lakefront would be a nice place to start." [break][break]

Emberfrost was somewhat surprised by Robincreek’s enthusiastic expression when he agreed to go with her. Perhaps he just didn’t crave the company of other cats as some did. Still, he did his best not to show it. When she suggested the lakefront, he nodded, thinking that as good a place as any, and he said as much: “I think the lake is a great place to start. I don’t think Ospreyclaw was planning on sending a hunting patrol there today.” He glanced over his shoulder as the camp was starting to stir. Ospreyclaw would be sending out patrols soon, wouldn’t she.
Turning to Smoketalon, Emberfrost mewed, “Would you make sure that Ospreyclaw knows Robincreek and I have gone hunting by the lake?” Flattery and sweetness wouldn’t work on Smoketalon, so Emberfrost kept everything as official as he could. He saw something flicker in Smoketalon’s eyes, but ignored it -- so what if the young tom thought there was more going on? Or if he didn’t. It wasn’t something that concerned Emberfrost.
When Smoketalon nodded that he would do such a thing, Emberfrost returned his full attention to Robincreek. “I’m ready when you are.” Robincreek + is TAGGED | 192 WORDS | NOTES: We can stay here or go to the lake in a new thread, I'm happy with either

| [attr="class","hbracket"]{ | [attr="class","htextbox"] Robincreek smiled. "Then we shall be off!" she exclaimed, padding off towards the lake. "Hmmm, I wonder which of us will catch more prey today?" Certainly, they were Thunderclan cats and not Riverclan cats, but it wouldn't hurt to try some fishing. It would help Robincreek take her mind off other pressing matters at hand. Flicking her tail, she spoke quietly, "Come now, the prey won't hunt itself." [break][break] Robincreek had noticed the cats waking up, and it was that time of day when the cats would wake and Ospreyclaw would assign patrols. She was grateful to both Emberfrost and Smoketalon for being willing to clear things with Ospreyclaw. Robincreek was ready to go hunt and take her mind of things, though slightly worried about Bramblefire, hunting would put her mind at ease. She knew better than anyone that he was not a kit anymore, and that both were now warriors. Still, a mother could not stop worrying for her kits and she hoped to enjoy herself now just as Bramblefire did with the rest of the clan. [break][break] Mice, voles, perhaps a rare hare or fish? The kinds of prey they would find ran through Robincreek's mind like an endless stream as she tried to calculate how much she could actually bring back without help. Regardless, this was her time to relax, and thinking things too thoroughly scares the prey.
