[PTab=Tab2]APPEARANCE - Jerry
PERSONALITY - A peace-loving she-cat with a knack for self-doubt, Aspenpaw works hard to prove herself to her family and her Clan. She has a knack for memorizing things, and can spout out information on battle moves and various details about the Clans, their history, and StarClan on the spot. While she is intelligent, she seems to lack the ability to have self-confidence and frequently second-guesses her every decision. Aspenpaw, despite having a wonderful memory, can be a bit oblivious - she takes time to pick up on social ques and when she's focused on a certain task, it's as if the rest of the world doesn't exist. (It's this characteristic that she firmly believes led to her previous mentor, One-eye, to lose his eye). She is, however, very hard-working and determined to be the best she can be, and aspires to go down in history as one of the strongest ThunderClan warriors of her time. She's fierce when it comes to protecting those she cares about, but prefers to find verbal solutions to problems before devolving into violence. It's her hesitance to fight that can cause plenty of problems - not all cats are as peaceful as she is, and this may one day lead her down a dangerous path. Aspenpaw is also highly curious - and nearly fearless when it comes to investigating things that catch her attention (as in, this gal would walk right into a fox's den if she thought she might catch a glimpse of baby foxes).

HISTORY -
Kithood | 0-6 Moons
Aspenkit and her brothers, Smokekit and Birchkit, were born in Newleaf. Their mother, Nettlefang, was not your usual mother - she did not shower them with limitless love and support, and she did not offer them any words of kindness unless she thought they had earned it. Even her mate, Tigerstrike, only visited a few rare times, and most of that time was spent informing Nettlefang of the going-ons of the clan outside of the nursery. Any attempt of Aspenkit's to seek affection from her father was met with a cold rebuttal from Nettlefang, who would sweep her away as if she were nothing more than a nuisance.
It was only a few days after she was born that the only other queen in the nursery, a small, young she-cat, gave birth to a single kit. The tom was named Bramblekit, and Aspenkit immediately took notice of the differences between the way he was treated by his mother, as opposed to how she was treated by her own. Nettlefang, of course, made it very clear that Aspenkit, Smokekit, and Birchkit were above associating with the likes of Bramblekit, or his mother, Robincreek.
'A fatherless tom such as him will never amount to more than an average warrior.' She had sniffed, not bothering to keep her voice down.
And so, Aspenkit tried to focus on her brothers. However, unlike Aspenkit, Smokekit showed promise as a warrior in the way that he often beat Aspenkit down during play fights, and Birchkit, often teased even by his mother for looking quite like a she-cat, was too focused on proving himself to bother with his weaker sister. Smokekit's superior attitude was only encouraged by Nettlefang, who would make it painfully obvious that she was pleased with Smokekit's ruthless attitude. In turn, when Birchkit began to emulate his brother more than his sister, and began to join in with teasing Aspenkit, Nettlefang would reward them with affection, all the while Aspenkit was pushed further and further from her family. And though Aspenkit had been born to Nettlefang, it appeared that she would take none of the she-cat's personality. Smokekit, however, seemed to have taken a page right out of her book, with Birchkit following in his footsteps. They wasted no time in teasing Aspenkit and embarrassing her - and to this day, out of every cat in her family, even moreso than her relationship with her mother - Aspenpaw has the most brittle of relationships with her brothers.
In light of her brothers' cruel attitudes, Aspenkit turned her attention to the large tabby tom who would often busy himself playing with his mother, or by himself. The two grew close - Aspenkit in charge of thinking up adventures for them to go on, and Bramblekit naming himself her brave protector. They were nearly inseparable, despite the glares Nettlefang would toss their way.
Apprenticeship | 6-Present Moons
At first, Aspenpaw was concerned that her mentor, Dustcloud, was a bit too high-energy for her to keep up with. He seemed to be constantly on the move, and Aspenpaw was always running to catch up with him.
But Aspenpaw quickly realized that Dustcloud was, in fact, a very skilled and kind mentor, who was beyond patient with his less-than-talented apprentice. But no matter how late they trained, Aspenpaw never could quite get a grip on her lessons. Dustcloud would, attempting to stay positive, announce that they would try again the next day, and Aspenpaw would stay behind, feeling useless. This would be when Bramblepaw would show up, even he trying to show her some moves or hunting tactics, but most of the time was spent talking. It was these late nights that made her realize that what she felt for him was more than a sisterly sort of love, though being a tad cowardly, Aspenpaw never did confess her feelings to him.
When she was only a few moons into her training, she went out hunting with Dustcloud and some other warriors on a patrol. She'd been stalking a rabbit - so close to catching her first prey that she could practically taste it, when suddenly chaos erupted around her. Whipping around, she found her mentor grappling with a huge beast - a badger - and Aspenpaw froze. She should have jumped into action, should have helped her mentor, but all she could do was stare in horror as the other warriors showed up, and the badger was defeated. But Dustcloud was injured - blood was everywhere - and she scrambled to help take him back to camp. He lost his eye, becoming One-eye, and Aspenpaw decided she was a useless member of the Clan, who had let her mentor lose his warriorship and his eye. Despite being reassigned, she continued to visit One-eye in the elder's den, always trying to make up for her mistake by offering him company, or asking him for advice.
At twelve moons old, Smokepaw and Birchpaw earned their warrior names, becoming Smoketalon and Birchwhisker, and Nettlefang made it clear that Aspenpaw was walking a fine line with her patience. Aspenpaw has thrown herself into her training - both with her new mentor, and with Bramblefire, but she can't help but think of the cold words her mother muttered to her as she watched her brothers earn their warrior names.
'You are no daughter of mine.'

[PTab=Tab3]DO YOU BELIEVE IN STARCLAN? WHY OR WHY NOT?
The orange and white she-cat looks almost nervous, as if this might be a trick question. "Yes? I mean, yes. I mean...there must be some path for me to take...I need to believe in them, because if they don't exist then...maybe I really am useless. So I need to believe in them." The conviction in her eyes burns like fire. "They have to be real."
FAVORITE HISTORICAL CAT? WHY?
"Robincreek - that's Bramblefire's mother - she once told us a story about a cat named Bluestar. She was the leader before Tigerstar. She says that Bluestar was one of the best leaders this Clan has ever seen - that she was resilient. The obvious choice would be Tigerstar - he led us here. To our new home. But I think I'd have to choose Bluestar - the last leader of ThunderClan, from the time when we lived in the forest." Curiosity makes her eyes shine. "Sometimes I want to travel the path of our ancestors, all the way back to our original home. How interesting would that be?"
WHAT IS YOUR GREATEST FEAR?
"Badgers. Definitely badgers."
IF YOUR BEST FRIEND/MOTHER/WHOEVER KNOWS YOU WELL COULD DESCRIBE YOU IN THREE INDIVIDUAL WORDS, WHAT WOULD THOSE BE? DO YOU AGREE OR DISAGREE?
She makes a face at this question, sighing softly but with amusement glittering in her gaze. "Bramblefire would say 'uncertain, blind, and too serious.' But he's definitely wrong, so don't listen to him."
