SPECKLEPAW
Specklepaw was as curious as ever, hurriedly rushing to the lake's border. Indeed, Specklepaw could be out there with the morning patrol, yet she had yet to be picked for duty. Curiosity led her towards the water's edge, its ripples fascinating her. There was an oddly calming effect of the lake that seemed to make things peaceful, but Specklepaw was much too excited by anything to be calm. She thought back to how Rowanheart had scolded her about scaring off the prey, and she instantly became grumpy again. It was silly old Rowanheart's fault for trying to show her up all the time. If he, didn't she probably would have managed to at least stick to the evening patrol. Stupid Rowanheart! she thought, One day, I'll show you I can be a better warrior than you!She then began to paw at the grass in frustration. She wanted to be picked for patrol, really she did. But her temperament usually got the best of her as she always found herself interested by something new. Ooh, was that a new scent? The last time that happened, Specklepaw found herself on the Windclan border. The patrol leader had to apologize for Specklepaw's behavior and chastised her when they returned. She couldn't help it, those new scents were so intriguing! But it was okay now, she worked on her stance and everything! No butterfly will distract her this time, she needed to be victorious so she could show off to Rowanheart. Crouching into a hunting stance, Specklepaw became focused on the water. Patrol or no, she was determined to finally hunt something correctly with no distractions. No distractions at all. Maybe then Rowanheart would acknowledge her accomplishments without feeling like she was pea-brained. Her tail swished back and forth impatiently, as she waited for a fish to surface. This was her moment! She could just feel it.

Why Can't We All... | | [attr="class","sumscroll"] Basking in the radiant sunlight, Waterwhisper was on the floor, on her side. Her slender physique on the bright green grass, her thin tail flicking around in amusement and her attenuated legs stretched right out in front of her. She could smell a clan-mate close to her but it didn’t bother her much, instead she liked the presence of somebody she knew but couldn’t identify. The birds were chirping their songs and a soft breeze wafted through the land as the young she-cat was blissfully relaxing. She was thinking of happiness and Lilyleap and her finally getting along and having fun together: going on patrols, hunting for food together and just in general, sharing thoughts and having giggles together. Yet these are dreams and Waterwhisper can’t understand as to why Lilyleap won’t talk to her again. Although it was a downer, Waterwhisper was never sad because of it and thus she had a soft smile placed on her face, her eyes closed and the short strands of fur on her body rustling in response to the wind’s call. The leisure time Waterwhisper had, however, was short-lived due to a faint pawing sounds making her ears flick. Her eyes shot open and her neck craned so her diamond-shaped head was lifted. She couldn’t see who it was as her eyes still adjusting to the luminous, yellow orb so she got up slowly, shaking herself to get rid of those pesky, tiny grass and blinking rapidly before seeing a white, grey with touches of ginger hues on a cat, who’s young looking, probably an apprentice. The apprentice was in a hunting crouch on the shore of the river and as the blue warrior strolled gradually towards the apprentice – with the grass clinging and tickling her legs – she identified the apprentice to be a she-cat, Specklepaw to be exact. Waterwhisper was delighted, she never hung out with an apprentice before except for when she was an apprentice. A large grin took hold of her pretty face and as she stood a mouse-tail away from the focused body, she sat down with her tail coiled around her paws. She stared at Specklepaw for a about a minute, oblivious to what she was doing, before speaking in a soft, gentle and quite tone, “Hello, Specklepaw! Why are you staring at the water like that?”

SPECKLEPAW
Oh! There it was! A fish! Specklepaw kept her stance, watching the water carefully as to not make any sudden movements. Come on...closer...just a little more... "Hello, Specklepaw! Why are you staring at the water like that?"
Specklepaw suddenly twitched at the voice. There wasn't supposed to be anyone here yet! The fish began to swim away from the sudden twitch, but Specklepaw, who still was in hunting position managed to leap into the water, barely grabbing the fish. Now fully immersed in the water and soaking wet, she went to address the new face. " O-Oh! Hi! What's up, Waterwhisker?" she asked in a muffled voice, prey in her mouth. " Pretty good, right? I bet Rowanheart is going to be so proud of me, now that I've managed to not screw up catching this fish!" She looked quite proud of herself, wet and everything, tail flicking excitedly. " See? Look at this fish!" It was quite tiny. " With this, Rowanheart will finally acknowledge me, and then I'll get to be a warrior!" she squealed in delight, dropping the fish by accident. She dove back into the water and picked it back up grinning.

WHATERWHISPER | | [attr="class","sumscroll"] She saw the sudden little jerk that came from Specklpaw after Waterwhisper greeted the apprentice and watched quite happily as Specklpaw dived right in to clasp onto the fish, flickering droplets of the chilling water in the process. Specklepaw was swift and fast in her reaction time which made Waterwhisper amazed by how an apprentice could do so much better than the warrior herself. Her facial expression were full of wonder; her eyes wide in utter admiration, her ears perked and her mouth opened a little bit in shock. She was completely soaking wet when she got up, holding a tiny fish (even though it was small, it was a big achievement in Waterwhisper’s eyes) within her pearly white teeth. Once the tri-coloured she-cat greeted the warrior, Waterwhisper looked up towards the sky, articulating in her soft-spoken tone, “Hmmm, the blue sky obviously annnnnd… A little bit of clouds… And that one bird that just flew right by.” The blue she-cat looked back down again at Specklepaw with a grin before listening to how Rowanheart, Specklepaw’s mentor, was going to be so proud. Waterwhisper agreed with sharp nods and smiles and leaned in to look at the tiny fish when Speckledpaw said to look at it. When she squealed with delight, Waterwhisper did the same, being over-joyed by someone feeling over-joyed. She flicked her tail and brushed it among the grass before saying, “Yea, soon enough!” Waterwhisper took a pause, thinking for a moment before a light bulb immediately switched on as she thought of a great idea, “Hey! How about you hunt, with a little bit of my help of course, a lot of fish and then when we’ve caught as much to fill a monster up Rowanheart would even be more proud and you could be a warrior tomorrow, maybe.” She smiled at the idea, her ears flicking.

SPECKLEPAW
Specklepaw did her best to frown at Waterwhisper's answer. " Oh come on, Waterwhisper, everyone says that!" she exclaimed, half enthusiastically and half in annoyance. She soon resumed bouncing up and down now. Then she began bouncing up and down even more upon hearing about Waterwhisper's idea. " Really?" she asked " Reallyreallyreallyreallyreally!?" Wow, she was vibrating a ton now. That's way too much energy, even for a cat. "Oh man, I can't wait to show that stupid old Rowanheart that I'm a warrior now!" she squealed in delight, nearly dropping the small fish again. " Wait can you really and truly convince Poppystar to make me a warrior? Oh Starclan that's gonna be great! I'm going to get to go train an apprentice and move in with Rowanheart and do really cool and fun warrior things that apprentices don't get to do and it's going to be so much fun!" she exclaimed for quite a while before stopping to catch a breath and continuing, " ...And that'll show that stupid old Rowanheart that I can totally be a warrior too, Poppystar's just delaying my warrior ceremony and stuff, oh this is so exciting I totally can't wait!"
