Wolfsong was currently out of the camp. She bent down at the lake and took a small drink before sitting herself down with a smile on her face. She would do some hunting once she had a small sit down, she decided. She took another drink before laying down for a minute and allowing the sun so shine on her back. She hadn't been gone too long, she she still had plenty of time to spend a few minutes to herself before hunting. Her tail swished behind her every so often while she relaxed herself.

Newleaf was fresh in the air, and as the sun rose above the dense pine trees of ShadowClan territory the bright yellow rays chased away the chill in the air that kept many cats moving until sunhigh. Sunstrike, however, was not one of those cats. His luxiously thick orange fur kept him warm throughout harsh leafbare months, and now, in the early days of newleaf, it fought away the cool morning breeze and kept the tom moving for more productive reasons other than just warmth. In fact, the senior warrior had been awake for some time, rising early with the fiery sun that was his namesake, and joining the dawn patrol with a few grumpy and shivering clanmates. A more than uneventful patrol left Sunstrike full of energy by the time they looped back to the camp, though he was more than gleeful to take a short break and share a breakfast with his sister, Ferretcloud- until of course, the now rich sunlight started the discomfort. See, while perfectly protected against morning chills and winter ills, the warmer months left the tom sometimes a bit too warm.
With a parting word to his beloved sibling, he took to the cooler shade of the forest, figuring a bit of hunting was in order, as well as cooling his paws in the still leafbare-crisp lake at the edge of the territory. He took his time perusing however, his languid stroll meant to be enjoyed, as well as staying out of the sun as long as possible. The prey had, of course, been running rich and plentiful this newleaf, the hunting party of only a few cats would absolutely feed the clan, and the next border patrol didn't fall until sunhigh. He wasn't desperately needed for the time being, and without an apprentice to take up his attention, he frequently found himself free between patrols, and these days had taken to using that time to hone his own skills, both hunting and fighting, as well as reflecting on himself. Being spread out in the pines, of course, also gave it's benefits. He took it upon himself to constantly keep his eyes and ears open, his focus sharp- you never know with something dark is bubbling right beneath the surface, and it was best to give the earliest warning he could muster, if it was at all possible.
This of course led to him smelling, hearing, and finally seeing Wolfsong long before it seemed the she-cat had noticed him. The grey warrior was resting in the sun it seemed, warming herself as many of the clan tried in the still-cooler months, the issue Sunstrike himself found to be a... nonissue. He hesitated, glancing over her, the handsome tom finally strutted out of the shadows, nodding in the she-cat's direction in his beeline for the water. "Wolfsong, good morning." He meowed pleasantly, reaching the show and dipping his head for a few quick laps at the frigid water, grateful for the cool sting as his moved forward to rinse his paw pads in the shallows. He purred his pleasure, and decided to make friendly banter. "I can't say I understand RiverClan's fascination with the water, and my coat would certainly way a hundred pounds if I got soaked, but a nice dip of my paws and I'm instantly cooler." He shot a charming grin over his shoulder, "Of course, I don't think most of the clan is finding this day to be particularly warm so far."
